Start of our Final Term

We've been busy. A football coach came in to school to help us develop football skills. In other news, we're expecting a guest from the Scottish Parliament and we are researching the Parliament and our voting system. Both P7 classes are working together to prepare presentations on this topic.

Local Library Visits

  • Primary 7 visited the local library for an our each week in March.
  • The librarians very kindly organised books for our Rainforest topic so that we could do some research.
  • As well as Rainforest research, we also did a Book Hunt which the librarians organised. This required us to follow the Dewey Decimal System which we are all experts at!

Judo Lesson

  • We had a Judo session from an Olympian!
  • He came and taught us some basic Judo skills.
  • Some of us enjoyed this lesson so much that we have joined the local Judo club!

Nil By Mouth

  • Primary 7 linked up with St Joseph's and took part in an Anti-Sectarian workshop.
  • This workshop looked at discrimination and stereotypes.
  • The children learned to respect opinions even when they are different to their own.

First Aid Training

  • Primary 7 were lucky enough to have an afternoon training session learning about First Aid.
  • We had a First Aid expert to teach us the recovery position and CPR.
  • We had great fun and definitely learned skills for life!

P7 Scottish Celebration

  • Primary 7 planned and organised their own Scottish Celebration. They had been learning about Robert Burns, Ceilidh dancing and Scottish poetry.
  • The children were given a budget and were responsible for researching the items they wanted for their celebration.
  • They advertised their celebration and invited their family and friends to participate.
  • We sang, danced and ate delicious Scottish food!
  • EVERYONE had an absolute ball! Well done Primary 7!
